This series mainly consists of transcripts of hearings of the Preparedness Investigating Subcommittee No. 2, U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, concerning ammunition supplies and shortages in the Far East during the Korean War. The testimony of Secretary of the Army Robert T. Stevens, former Secretary of the Army Frank Pace, former Under Secretary of the Army Archibald Stevens Alexander; and several U.S. Army generals, including Edward M. Almond, J. Lawton Collins, George H. Decker, Thomas B. Larkin (retired), Williston B. Palmer, William O. Reeder (retired), and James A. Van Fleet, is recorded. Summaries of statements made before the Senate subcommittee by Major General Elbert Louis Ford, Chief of Ordnance, on the subject of Army ammunition procurement and production are included. The transcript of an executive session of the subcommittee is also included. The records were collected and maintained by the Executive Office.
